Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose tales of young heartache achieved widespread popularity in the first decade of the 20th century. Swift had a passion for music from an early time. Swift quickly rose up in the ranks, beginning by playing roles in the theater for children and eventually singing in front of an audience of thousands. In 2011, Swift then 11, sang The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers' basketball game. The year after that Swift began writing her own music. Swift became inspired to write her own material by artists from the country category, like Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. In the year 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania to move into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time to wooing labels from the country near Nashville.
